It has electrical insulation, heat resistance, flame retardant, good mechanical strength and other properties, as well as light weight and easy engineering design, flexible and other advantages, its mechanical properties can be comparable to some metal materials, so widely used in transport vehicles, construction, electronics, electrical and other industries. It is mainly the instrument panel, steering machine, radiator system and electronic device, as well as the body plate, engine hood and so on.

Product Application

 

SMC can be used in 8PT cabinet. It has the following advantages:

 

Corrosion Resistance and Environmental Aging Resistance
8PT cabinets are often used in chemical, coastal, or high-humidity environments where traditional metal cabinets are prone to rust and require frequent maintenance. SMC, as an inorganic composite material, contains no metal components and exhibits excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and salt spray (experimental data shows that SMC withstands 480 hours in a 5% NaCl salt spray without blistering or peeling). It also resists UV aging (with added specific fillers, its service life can exceed 20 years).

 

Lightweight Design and Structural Strength
SMC has a density of 1.8-2.0 g/cm³, only 1/4 that of steel and 2/3 that of aluminum. Through compression molding, reinforcing ribs and integrated structures can be designed, achieving a flexural strength of 150-250 MPa, comparable to ordinary steel. This meets the mechanical strength requirements of 8PT cabinets (e.g., impact and deformation resistance).

 

Insulation and Electromagnetic Shielding (Enhancing Electrical Safety)
SMC boasts a volume resistivity >10^13 Ω·cm and a dielectric strength >15 kV/mm, providing inherent insulation to prevent leakage risks. By incorporating conductive particles (e.g., carbon fibers), customizable electromagnetic shielding (30-60 dB) can be achieved, meeting the anti-interference needs of sensitive components like inverters and PLCs in 8PT cabinets.
